27th January - 10th February

27th - 28th Secret Cove, Phuket
Relaxation central. Highlight of the day after our morning swim, 6 hours reading and a bit of sunbathing was the Golden Retriever puppy swimming lessons, i.e throw the puppyas far as you could into the sea and let the natural instincts kick in.

29th Jan - 1st Feb Bangkok
Stayed in a rather plush business rental apartment that we managed to pick up for a steal online in the Suhkumvit area of Bangkok.
Markets, markets, markets. Asians do love a good market and pretty much anywhere they put a pavement, someone will set up a stall selling anything from rip off tshirts to knuckle dusters.
Patpong is a Sex show/Cath Kidson Replica handbag fusion market. Here due to expensive beers on the streets we followed a tout to a pingpong show for some discount beer. Unfortunately the catch was that on leaving we asked for an extra 20 quid. We clearly weren't playing this game so with the negotiating skills of Henry Kissenger as a feint, the shoulder of justice removed the 18 stone 'female' bouncer from the door, and we were away. As for the actual show - for those who made the epic Liverpool University Rugby tour to Benidorm, the 'girls' weren't a patch on Sticky Vicky.

Palace - Main Watt, temple of the Emerald Buddha, temples temples temples, brilliant, beautiful, blah blah, temples etc.

2nd  - 6th Feb Sydney

Early into Steve Irwin International Airport where Christian very kindly picked us up. Heatwave over the city where it was a toasty 36 deg C, this required some rapid cooling off so we very wisely went to a pub. After a few fresheners (of cold but identical tasting beer) we hit the beach and enjoyed the nicely chilled Pacific. Lovely pub meal back at the local and a few more identical tasting largers.

Christian's Birthday (3rd Feb) - 1st class breakfast at Balmoral Beach, Palm Beach (Home&Away location), underwater filming, Dinner at Kingsleys for Oysters, Steak and King Crab, Home for Birthday Cakes press ups and Stegosaurus impressions.

4th - Sight seeing in Circular Quay - Harbor bridge Opera House, Manly ferry, Beach, Meal then a fantastic water taxi across to Darling Harbor for a bit of late night frivolity.

5th - Up bright and early to be terribly disappointed by a lack luster Welsh Team get beaten by England. Chinamans beach for a sulk, picnic and some well needed bed.

A big thanks to Christian and Nicole for looking after us while in Sydney, it definitely wouldn't have been the same without them babysitting us.

6th Feb Sydney - Santiago
16 hour flight via Auckland to Santiago. Actually wasn't that bad apart from the teenager with some kind of hyperactivity order who had a fondness for necking litre bottles of coke and seeing how hard he could head but his head rest. He also had a worrying attraction the emergency exit lever.

7th - 9th Santiago
Great B&B owned by Walter and his jewelry designing 'partner'. Santiago city, clean, safe ordered but not much to write home about.
Bike around the city followed by some Pisco Sours one of the days, Spanish course another and a Bike and Vineyard tour to finish it off.

10th - San Pedro de Atacama
So far we've sorted all our trips out for the next few days. Off to see some Geysers and Lagoons tomorrow, a day in San Pedro then to Bolivia. Ciao
